Dimethicone cosmetic grade is a 100% active linear silicone polymer with a viscosity of 500 cps. Linear silicones are large high-molecular polymers (polydimethylsiloxanes) and usually are viscous and more oil-like. Clear, slightly viscous liquid, odorless. Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, dispersible in oils & and fats. dimethicone is a safe skincare ingredient that calms irritation, minimizes redness, and protects the skin.
Dimethicone is a silicone-based ingredient used in many personal care products. It keeps all of the ingredients in a product from separating. It also gives these products a smooth, silky texture. When applied to the skin or hair, dimethicone creates a physical barrier to seal in hydration, keeping skin moisturized and hair frizz-free. In cosmetics, dimethicone helps to fill in fine lines and wrinkles. It helps your makeup look even rather than cakey and gives it a matte finish. Dimethicone is also noncomedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores.

Use: Typical use level 1-20% (up to 50% possible), add to the oil phase of formulas or at the end of the formula. Do not heat over 50°C (125°F). For external use only.
